Neelanjana Banerjee is a writer and editor living in San Francisco. By day, she helps young people tell their own stories at YO! Youth Outlook Multimedia. She also leads writing workshops in juvenile halls with The Beat Within, a journal of art and writing by incarcerated youth. She is a blogger and the managing editor for Hyphen, an Asian American magazine based in San Francisco. She received her MFA in creative writing from San Francisco State University in 2007 and was a Hedgebrook resident in 2008. Her writing has appeared in Nimrod, Asian Pacific American Journal, A Room of One's Own, and a several awesome, but now-deceased indie magazines like Kitchen Sink and Clamor and LiP.
