Brick Lane: Germaine Greer vs. Salman Rushdie

I have to say, more than a few things about Germaine Greer's recent column on Monica Ali's Brick Lane pissed me off. Glib lines like this one were particularly annoying: "[Ali] has forgotten her Bengali, which she would not have done if she had wanted to remember it." Uh huh.

Rushdie responds.
