Earthquake in Pakistan,Kashmir,India

On Saturday 8th October Pakistan, Kashmir and India suffered an earthquake measuring 7.6 on the richter scale. The epicenter was in Pakistan resulting in the nothern regions being hit particularly badly.

A whole generation had been wiped out in the most devastated areas because of the weekend's huge quake, the worst affected being the schoolchildren, chief military spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan said . "Rescuers are pulling out dead children in Muzaffarabad but there is no one to claim the bodies which shows their parents are dead," he said. "Rawalakot has been destroyed. Muzaffarabad is 70 percent destroyed. There is not a single house in Muzaffarabad which has not suffered damage-

Four days later people are still trapped under rubble calling for help. The Pakistani government requires more helicopters and cranes to get people out. Even in Indian administered Kashmir poeple cannot be reached.
