Join the Hyphen Staff
I like Hyphen -- they did an interview with me a while back, and generally put out a nice magazine. This would be a good opportunity for someone looking to gain some editorial or magazine production experience.
Hyphen is looking for an infusion of new talent to join our team. If you're a smart, motivated, reliable self-starter who's fond of email, in command of strong communication skills, and passionate about Asian American issues, then Hyphen wants you. Please keep in mind that Hyphen is an all-volunteer, office-less, grassroots, by-the-seat-of-our-pants organization. We are looking for dedicated folks who understand our mission, are not flaky, and who know how to have fun while working hard.
What Do I Get Out Of Volunteering For Hyphen?
An opportunity to learn about magazine publishing from a small,
start-up perspective
Meaningful and interesting projects that let you put your business
mind to work and your heart into it
A dynamic environment for building your resume with leadership roles
in marketing, finance, sales or management
A great way to network with Bay Area Asian Americans in arts, culture
and politics
An opportunity to work (and socialize) with a talented and dedicated
staff, in an innovative and supportive organization
Occasional meals of Spam and kimchee
A warm, fuzzy feeling!
We're recruiting for the following teams, and welcome those who are
looking to get into publishing as well as people with previous
industry experience.
Please send your resume and cover letter to erin Ninh, HR & Operations
Manager, at erin@hyphenmagazine.com.

work to be published in the magazine.
