Chicago - Book Club 3/20 - The Kite Runner

For more details on the meeting, visit our chapters web site -- all in Chicago are welcome. We're going to be reading Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner this time, which has been getting a lot of attention. I haven't read it yet, but luckily, I read fast, so that's the main thing I'm planning on doing today. I won't be back online again for a bit, so I'm not afraid of spoilers -- use the comments, and tell us what you thought of this book!

Me, I'm just impressed that a doctor with two kids found time to write a novel. I have no other career and no kids, and this novel I'm writing is eating all my time (also my brain).

The Kite Runner is one of the best books in recent years that I've read. It's difficult to put down when you start, and is very well-written. I loved it, and came away with a lot of information about the Afghan people and their struggles.
