Kiran Chugani

"I try, in my paintings, to bring out the emotional and spiritual aspects of human existence.
I find that what excites me most in my paintings is the act of evoking certain emotions and discovering the depth and intricacies of these emotions and understanding human nature. Western and Eastern philosophy meet on my canvas where, in my limited space, I create a world in which everything is reduced to it's simplest form: what Plato calls truth, beauty, and goodness and what the Vedanta philosophy refers to as Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram. The usage of color, texture, simple brushstrokes, and forms found in this realm are used to create a sense of calmness and meditative pause."
